i finished A book!

While I was pregnant with Logan my mom introduced "The No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency" series to me. The book themselves aren't too long (~200 pages) and aren't too hard to read, but they are fun! I finished the first 3 1/2 books in the last couple months of my pregnancy...not to pick up another one until recently. This morning I finally finished Book 5 "The Full Cupboard of Life".

In a nutsell, the stories are set in Botswana, Africa. When Mma Ramotswe (the main character)'s father died he left her several cattle. In Africa cattle is very valuable and is equated to wealth. He told her to sell the cattle and start a business. So she decides to purchase a building and start the first detective agency run by a woman. She is involved in some funny, some serious cases.

If you are looking for light enjoyable read I'd definately recommend this series!

I read the first one a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. I didn't know that there was a series.

By the way, what's everyone's Guitar Hero status? I'm getting stuck on Hard (14/42).

Great job!

I should finish the series. I read the first three and our library in Oregon didn't have the rest of the series so I never finished.

That's so interesting that you enjoyed that series, because I couldn't stand it! When I was working I was allowed to listen to books on CD. Our library never had a very good selection, so most of the time I grabbed whatever was there and I ended up with one of the series. I thought it was really boring. Its funny though because I never know if the book I am reading is popular or not. So often months after I've listened to a book I'll find out its on the bestseller list. Go figure! Needless to say I was suprised to see you've read the series, and that other people have too. I must be the only person that didn't enjoy them. Oh well!
