Kaiser loves me.

Yesterday I made my 3rd trip to Kaiser in less than 3 weeks. Not fun for me, the kids, or my budget. OK, Logan actually was excited to go yesterday because they had Blues Clues on in the waiting room and the Doctor gave him a sticker.

Trip 1 - Check out Logan's ear. He was complaining about his ear. Results - it was a little pink, infection was developing. Wait it out for a few days and then pick-up prescription if he's still complaining. I also was able to convince Dr. Crook to do Kelsie's 6th month check-up since we were already there. He agreed, but she had to come back for her shots because she was a couple days shy of being 6 months old.

Trip 2 - Take Kelsie to get her shots and pick up prescription for Amoxiccillian for Logan's ear since he woke up with a fever and ear still hurt.

Then yesterday Logan woke up with a rash over his entire body. He said it didn't itch, but he was pretty concerned about his "polka dots". (side note: Logan is a pretty self-conscious kid. Kurt said something like look at his face and he was kind of worried and went to check himself out in the mirror) Anyways, since he was acting fine and wasn't itching we went to our scheduled park day. I asked my friends, aka the seasoned moms, for their guesses regarding the rash. Mary said her son Jordan had a similar reaction to medication and then it dawned on me that he was on Amoxiccillian! It's just a little odd because he was on Day 9 or 10. Weird. So I called the Advice Nurse who helped make an appointment for Logan to see a Doctor for Trip 3.

Trip 3 - Doctor confirmed allergic reaction. No more Amoxiccillian for Logan. Trip to pharmacy for more Benadryl. (Rash should start to go away in a day or 2, gone completely in a week)

Don't ya love the doctor's office!?! When Austin was little he had 6 ear infections in 7 months...we lived at the dr office! So annoying! Glad they figured out about the allergy--at least you know now!
