A few of Kurt's co-workers suggested we take a beautiful drive from Page Mill Road in Palo Alto to Pescadero, which is close to the coast, and complete the day by having dinner at Duarte's Tavern. The first half of the drive wasn't anything special...I even got a little carsick, but the second half was beautiful! We drove through some gorgeous redwood forests. When we got to Duarte's I had really high hopes for some delicious food. They were booked with reservations until 8:30pm and said they could seat us if we were willing to wait 45 minutes. My review: It was OK, but not worth the hour + drive to get there. I had prime rib and Kurt had the red snapper. Admittedly the pecan pie we indulged in was DELICIOUS. Sadly, this trip confirmed Kurt & I are becoming restaurant snobs. Barbara we still love you and will be coming back soon.
