Trip Home

Last week the kids and I hung out in Cameron Park for a few days. Logan has been begging to play with his cousins and it also was my nephew Preston's 4th birthday party. We had a lot of fun relaxing and hanging out with my family.

On my drive over as soon as the Bay Area radio stations faded I tried to tune into my old favorite KWOD 106.5...only to find out it no longer exists (well at least not at 106.5). Instead the station is now KBZC - The Buzz, a Totally 90's station. It kind of put me in a weird funk the entire time and I was flooded by memories of Junior High and High School. "Ghetto Superstar", "Regulate", and more Red Hot Chili Peppers than someone should hear in one weekend. It was a lot of fun, but am I really old enough to like songs on an "oldies" station?

Anyways, while there we also spent an afternoon at Cameron Park Lake. It was a great way to beat the heat. Logan was a little reluctant at first to go into the water, but he was coaxed in and Aunt Anissa spent some time trying to teach him to swim. Kelsie LOVED the water and tasted her first handful of sand.

Friday was Preston's birthday/water party. Once again my sister put together an awesome party with over 40 people in attendance. The kids loved it.
