10 Things That Have Made My Life as a Mom Easier....

1. The Graco Swing.
This came as a hand-me-down from my sister since she's not planning to have anymore kids. Logan loved it and would nap in it for hours! I was able to get so much done! Logan played with it until he was big enough to make it swing himself!

2. The Boppy Pillow.
Logan and I had some many nursing problems during the first 9 weeks of his life and the Boppy was there from the beginning. Logan also loved sitting and laying on it. I am also thankful for really good lactation nurses who helped us out and gave us the nipple guards. I would have gave up and it not been for those priceless little plastic guards!

3. The Expensive Swaddle Blanket.
So for one my baby showers my friend Crystal bought me a swaddle blanket from Nordstrom. While it was adorable (baby blue with brown polka dots), I thought she was crazy to buy a
blanket at Nordstrom! I was curious so I looked up the price online and she paid like $24. However, it turned out to be our most favorite blanket! It even has instructions for swaddling sewn on the tag. Also it was really large, unlike most of our other blankets. Kurt would swaddle Logan before bedtime and it helped him sleep well for quite some time!

4. The Exersaucer, Bouncer, & Jumper.
This should actually be entitled "Toys that entertain little ones so you can get things done". Logan would alternate between these 3 toys most of his waking hours.
The Johnny Jumper saved our arms. Logan has always loved to jump up and down...way before he even thought about walking or crawling. When my sister brought the jumper over it was a lifesaver. I just wish I would have had more doorways to put it in.

5. The Graco Metrolite Stroller.
This stroller is so light and easy to use! I'm glad it was recommended to me. The basket underneath is also fairly large for storing things. It's super easy for me to collapse and get in and out of the car without any help. I will be sad when my days of a single stroller come to and end. This has bee
n the BEST stroller.

6. The Infant Tylenol.
During the intense teething times this has been a lifesaver. We used other things too, but nothing has worked as well as the tylenol and Logan's pediatrician recommended it. He said it was safer than most of the other options. Logan doesn't like the Cherry flavor, but he'd down the whole bottle of the Grape flavor if given the chance.

7. The Plastic Bib.
Want to eliminate a little bit of laundry? Buy this BIB! After every meal we just wash it in the sink with the dishes and we're good to go! It also has a little bucket at the bottom that catches food droppings. I used to nanny twins that had the Baby Bjorn ones, but the Kiddopotamus ones are cheaper and I like that they are more flexible (comfortable for the kid).

8. Matchbox Airplanes.
If you didn't already know...our son has a slight obsession with airplanes, jets, and helicopters. We soon discovered that Matchbox, in addition to its little cars makes planes! Logan now as a nice collection that entertain him during church, long car rides, grocery shopping, etc. And the best part is that they are $1.50 or less!

9. Playhouse Disney & Sesame Street on Demand.
Kurt may have issues with this one, but most nights I actually cook is due to Sesame Street on Demand. As soon as I start dinner Logan is usually following me around the kitchen, emptying the Tupperware drawer, asking for cookies, whining to be held, etc...well as soon as he hears Elmo or Big Bird he calms down and will sit and watch for a little while. I also owe a big thank you to Playhouse Disney for allowing my daily shower. If Higglytown Heros, Mickey Mouse, Handy Manny, etc. are on Logan will sit on my bed and watch. He doesn't cry, try to climb, etc...they have captured his full attention. It's a lifesaver or better yet a showersaver!

10. The Daddy.

Last but certainly not least--The Daddy. I have no idea how single moms raise little ones! It is definitely a two-person job! And I have one of the best! Every night (almost) Kurt bathes Logan, reads him stories, and puts him to bed -- giving me a little time to relax by myself. He also takes over other responsibilities when he is home and gets really sad if something comes up and he doesn't get to spend more time with Logan. My boys are the best of friends. Logan is DEFINITELY a Daddy's Boy.

Lastly, I had a question for all of you that have multiple children! What kind of double stroller do you have and do you like it? I bought almost all of my baby stuff unisex--so even if I have a girl the only big item I will need to purchase is a double stroller. As of now I am planning on buying Graco's Quattro Duo Stroller. It's supposed to fold down smaller than their previous models, but does cost a bit more.

We have the Evenflow double long. I don't remember what it's called. But it's been alright. Kind of hard to push and really big. I have some friends that have the sit and stand and love them. BTW Melanie's shower has been changed to 5:00, not 6:30. Hopefully you can make it!!

Thats a cute post :)

My friend has a peg-perego ride along stroller that I borrowed for a while, and it was NICE. It has like little stand on things in the back, that the older kid can stand on, sure it doesn't "keep the kid" in as well, but our kids were a lil' older when we used it :)

The jumper, swing, and exersaucer were lifesavers for me too. It was a lot easier to get things done then it is now! And I especially loved how you included "The Daddy." I don't know how singles Mom do it either, but I commend them!

We have a double stroller that we bought from Walmart. When we first bought it, I would put Myra in the front and the baby in the car seat in the back. It was really front heavy. And not too long after, Myra refused to ride in it. I wish I had bought one like this: http://www.strollerdepot.com/moreinfo.php?SKU=1005&logkey={sitnstandlxuid}&logsite=google&logcamp=1005&gclid=CP-C3LOjjpMCFR8ragodPRpMfw

I think it would have been more useful, especially now that Myra is older.

Also, if you want more of those Extra-large swaddle blankets, that's the same size as the ones I make.
