I'm really bummed that I didn't take any pictures this weekend, especially with my friend Eryn. My visit with her was 10 years in the making!

Saturday afternoon my oldest "best friend" drove down from the city to have lunch with me and meet Logan & Kurt. Eryn and I have been best friends since Kindergarten! I moved to
Susanville, CA during the last week of Kindergarten at
Richmond School. Eryn paid another girl a quarter to sit by me (I was the "new girl" after all) and we've been best friends ever since! We soon found out that we were neighbors and played all summer long. Over the years we've been through clubs, Brownies, sports, her parents divorce, crushes, mini-vacations, new siblings, etc. together. We were devastated when I had to move the summer before 8th grade, but actually remained pretty close through phone calls, letters, and eventually emails and then
MySpace/Facebook. :) Since our years apart we have each journeyed on very different paths, but it's funny how that doesn't matter with true best friends. (We found out we both are totally addicted to
The Office and
ANTM!) Since Junior High she's probably had a dozen different hairstyles and colors, attend half a dozen different colleges, lived in Finland for several years and brought back a souvenir (her boyfriend Jussi), and is now getting ready to start dental school in San Francisco. We're planning to get together soon so we can meet Jussi. Hopefully another 10 years won't pass before we do so!

On Sunday afternoon, my "best friend" from high school, Lisa and her boyfriend Kevin, invited us over for dinner! They moved to Redwood City last Spring, so we've been able to see them a couple times, but not as often as I would like! They travel quite a bit and we have a little one who heads to bed pretty early. The funny thing about Lisa is that when we first met, she didn't like me very much. Well, maybe its not that she didn't like me, but...she and our friend Alexis invited these cute boys they liked to go to a Mary J. Blige/Jodeci/Notorious B.I.G., etc concert. Lisa's "date" ended up

not being able to go at the last minute. So Alexis suggested they invite me to come along. I was excited to go...but apparently Lisa wasn't too excited. However, we bonded over Mary J. Blige's crappy backup dancers and vowed that we could do a better job! That was our freshman year at
Oak Ridge High School and we've been best friends ever since! After high school she headed to San Diego State and I to BYU, but I was able to go visit her during our first semester during a road trip with my brother, his wife, and my friend Laura. We drove down for the BYU/SDSU football game and I experienced co-ed dorms! Boy was that a culture shock from BYU! A couple years later Lisa was one my bridesmaids in my wedding. She was a trooper--flying out to Utah and experiencing our "weird" culture. :)
