Busy but Fulfilling Weekend

Kurt & I had one of those weekends where we were able to get a lot of things done, including on a long list of things we've been putting off for a while. Isn't a great feeling to have things taken off your plate!

Friday night we were able to attend our Stake Temple Night. My friend Rachel agreed to watch Logan, but then decided to come to the temple with me and Kurt. We left Logan with her husband and 5 kids. (They LOVE Logan! When we were picking Logan up I asked Bruce how he was...he said he was great! I just had to deal with my kids fighting over him! :)) The Oakland Temple serves prime rib on Friday nights...so we took advantage of that before the session. We had a 7:30pm chapel session where President Brown and the Oakland Temple President spoke. I love the chapel sessions and looking around and seeing so many friends together in such a sacred place. Kurt and I have been trying really hard to go to the temple together at least once a month. So far April is the only month we've missed! Kurt actually goes far more often. His YM presidency take to boys to the temple once a month at 5:30am on a Saturday! I'm surprised they can get the boys of that early, but it is a very rewarding experience.

On Saturday, we started our long to-do list. We went to Kaiser to get blood work done, went to breakfast (because Kurt had to fast), went to the recycling place and picked up free compost for our garden, drove to San Leandro so Kurt could buy venturing scout supplies, got my signature notarized and FINALLY ordered Logan's birth certificate, and smogged the Honda and sent in our car registration renewal ALL before a late lunch! Logan and I slept the afternoon away while Kurt worked in the yard.

Luckily, our friends Alyse and Aaron invited us over for dinner, because we were so busy planning out the rest of our day we probably would have starved! We had fun visiting with the Basilius' and missionaries for the evening. Logan was entertained by their son Charlie who happens to be one of Logan's favorite people. :) The missionaries stayed at their house for a record 4 hours! We were hoping to play games, etc. but I guess that will have to wait for next time...

Sunday was actually a pretty relaxing day. Kurt had his regular Sunday meetings, but they have been much shorter since our new Bishop was called. Kurt is very appreciative of that. :) Last night we watched P.S. I Love You. Pretty good movie if you're in the mood to cry, but I don't recommend if you're pregnant...because then crying turns into uncontrollably crying leaving you with a massive headache. Just a suggestion...

I've had that movie sitting on my DVD player for 2 weeks now -- I guess I should pop it in and actually watch it -- I always enjoy a good sob fest :)
