32 Weeks + 1 Day

Don't ask me what that is...but apparently it's equivalent to the size of Kelsie. By now, she weighs 3.75 pounds and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in the belly. I haven't taken many pictures of the pregnant me since Hawaii and I guess my baby shower in Utah. Maybe while we're in Cameron Park/Apple Hill this weekend I'll have Kurt snap off a few pictures.

I think I've said this before, but Kelsie is a whole heck of a lot more active than Logan ever was. In fact, I didn't seem to have any of the uncomfortable pregnancy symptoms (contractions, HARD kicking, major back aches, heart burn, pelvic pressure, insomnia, swelling, leg cramps, etc) until 2-3 weeks before he was born. Well, sadly I have to report that this is not true of Kelsie. At this very moment I think she is trying to escape out of my bellybutton. Kurt has had to listen to me complain several nights in row. I'm pretty sure he thought I was making stuff up until he felt one of Kelsie's MAJOR kicks. I'm hoping that all of these actions mean she 1. will be bigger than Logan was (not huge, just big enough to sleep through the night easier) and that 2. she will come on her due date or possibly a little sooner. I don't want to get my hopes up, but I'm just hoping the next 7-8 weeks fly by--and I think they should...trip to Cameron Park this weekend, doctor appointments, possibly attending Fleet Week in SF, Logan's preschool, Primary presentations, Primary trainings, another fun baby shower thrown by my friends, a couple photo shoots with Kurt, the annual Pre-Thanksgiving Dinner at my friend Lisa's house, etc. I think we're about ready for her. In any case, we for sure could make due for a while if she were to come early with a quick trip to the store for newborn diapers.

Yesterday, Logan & I spent the day in Brentwood with my sister-in-law and nieces. Besides the fun hours spent scrapbooking, Anissa sent me home with a ton of 0-9 months clothes (one very full plastic bin & garbage bag). I spent today organizing, trying to put away, and washing some of the clothes. Between my shower in Utah and the hand-me-downs from her cousins, I think Kelsie is set in the clothing department for a while. Anissa also threw in some pink washcloths, towels, changing pads, bassinet sheets, etc. I'm still adjusting to seeing so much pink!

The second pregnancy was more uncomfortable for me also, maybe it was just because I was older. I hope that things go by as fast as possible for you, and just try to enjoy that feeling of another life moving inside of you, I miss it terribly!

You're going to Apple Hill!? Sorry I know that's not really what the post is about, but it just brought back memories for me. My family used to go every Fall when I was growing up. Unfortunately I now live where Fall doesn't exist (AKA Arizona). Enjoy your trip to Apple Hill! And good luck with the last little bit of your pregnancy.
