Christmas Eve Festivities

Since I was a little girl my family has always gathered for Christmas Eve and had a big talent show/program. From what I remember it was always at my Aunt Margie's house in Bakersfield and we gathered with all of my cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and others that were invited to join in the fun. Every year we had a talent show where people would sing, dance, do a skit, share a story, etc. Since then our family has grown a lot and we now longer spend our Christmas' in Bakersfield, so we've continued this tradition on with just our branch of the family.

Highlights from this year included:

Kylee playing some Christmas songs on her flute (she started learning this year).

Davis playing his drums, with his brother Preston and cousins joining along in dance.

Our resident ballerina Tristan performing a dance from the Nutcracker. You may have seen her make her TV appearance on ABC's Christmas Disney Parade Christmas morning. She had a cameo appearance (2 seconds of fame) during the Corbin Bleu concert.

Preston is our Rock Star. Davis & Kylee were his background tap dancers.

Logan shared his letter man skills. M-E-R-R-Y-C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S (in case you can't hear him)

Aubrey & Ashlyn danced their little hearts away. I'm not sure why I don't have a picture of Ashlyn...but she sangs us some beautiful Christmas songs.

Noah & Anissa put together a Christmas song Pictionary game with some new twists--we had to sings the songs for a least 10 seconds before passing the marker onto someone else (it was a relay). Noah then shared a nice poem with us.

Mom read us the history of the song "Silent Night". This year the song is celebrating its 190th Anniversary.

Kurt & I taught everyone the song "The First Noel" in Japanese & Portuguese.

Kelsie just looked cute.

Getting ready for the Nativity...(more great pictures coming later...hint hint Becky, Anissa, and Mom)
Becky read the nativity story to us while everyone acted out a part. It wasn't the most reverant Nativity story...but hopefully the kids were listening.
