Another Day at the Zoo

Can I just say I love having a membership to the Oakland Zoo?!? And I'm pretty sure Logan does too. We just renewed our membership and upgraded to a family plan so Kurt can come with us.

On Wednesday, since it was on our schedule to talk about zoo animals during preschool, we decided to head to the zoo. We had a lot of fun! It might be hard to see, but I bought Logan a coveted elephant key during this trip to the zoo. At most of the animal exhibits there is a box with a keyhole. Once you put the key in the hole it shares a bunch of interesting facts about the animal. Supposedly it also works at the San Francisco and San Diego zoos and it was only $3! Logan was super excited to have his own key. I don't think he even really looked at the animals-he just ran from key box to key box.

My friend Alyse who recently moved brought her kids to join us at the zoo. It was fun to spend the day visiting with them too!

Today also marked a special day for Logan - He is now tall enough to go on some of the rides by himself! I think that means he's 36" tall. He loved driving the car around by himself.

Lastly, thought I'd share this cute idea. Kathy already had her craft prepared before we decided to head to the zoo, so she made a little package for everyone to take home. We used strawberry containers, play dough, and animal crackers to make a zoo at home. She also suggested adding some dirt or rocks, but since it's raining we just stuck with the play dough. Logan thought it was pretty cool.
