Monterey/Carmel Day Trip

Kurt took Monday off from work so he could have some extra time to visit with Rachelle & Dane. He had to work last Wednesday-Friday while we were out and about having fun. So we decided to take advantage of a vacation day and head to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Carmel Beach. First we headed to the Presidio to try to use Rachelle's military ID to get some discount tickets. We were successful, but they only give military families a $3 discount per ticket...seems like they deserve more than that!

We all LOVED our time at the Aquarium. Kelsie slept through most of the outing, but woke in time for the kid area. They had this thing that is kind of like a water bed that she enjoyed rolling around on. Logan said he liked the penguins and fish the best. Both boys loved running around and climbing on all of the kids play equipment and touch the starfish, etc in the touch pools.

We then headed to Carmel Beach for a little bit before heading home. This is one of our favorite beaches. It is so beautiful! You can see the Pebble Beach golf course from the beach and it's just down the street from the cute little (and VERY pricey) shopping area Carmel is famous for. It was pretty empty on a Monday night, except for a few dog walkers, but Logan did manage to make friends with a little boy named Nicholas and then played in the sand. Kurt, Rachelle, and Dane went for a walk down the beach and saw some awesome starfish and collects some cool shells.
