As soon as I heard "Wicked" was coming back to San Francisco, I told Kurt I really wanted to go see it. Kurt quickly replied, "You should go see it with some friends". :) Kurt does not do musicals. Even yesterday he said he doesn't like a lot of Disney movies because there is too much singing. Anyways, for my birthday present Kurt set it up so I could go see "Wicked" with my mom, sister, and sister-in-law...a Girls Day Out! We had a lot of fun! We all took BART into the city a few hours before the play started to have lunch and spend a little bit of time window shopping and wandering around.

Then we headed to lunch at The Cheesecake Factory. I've always heard how yummy it was and was definitely not disappointed. It's fun because it's on the top of floor of the Macys building in Union Square. Since it was a beautiful day we opted to eat outside. I ordered the Tomato Basil Pasta. :) The other girls ordered the Luau and Chinese Chicken Salads. They were huge! My mom printed off the Weight Watchers Dining Out menu and it was amazing seeing how many calories are in some of the dishes! FYI-one piece of PLAIN cheesecake is 800 calories! We of course couldn't order a plain one, but we did split it 4 ways. :)
Since it was my birthday (well it isn't officially for 2 more weeks), they brought me out a scoop of ice cream with a candle on it....although the wind made my wish for me and blew out the candle before I got the chance. We ordered the 30th Anniversary Cheesecake and it was SOOOO yummy!
We then made our way to the Orpheum Theater through some stinky neighborhoods for the main event. :) They don't allow cameras inside the theater, so you'll have to enjoy the shots from outside and trust me that the sets and play itself was amazing! My mom kept saying that Glinda reminded her of Kelly Ripa. She was pretty funny! I didn't know any of the story line before going to the play, so I think it made it that much better.
