We started the day visiting my friend/old coworker Marlyse. She just gave birth to the cutest little boy Talon. I remember when she first met Kenny aka the texting guy and then was freaking out about getting married...and now she was 2 kids!
Marlyse & Kenny live really close to BYU (above the stadium actually), so then we got our BYU fix. Kurt got a new BYU hat (shown in many pictures from our trip). I got a new BYU shirt. And Logan got a BYU football. He wanted the soccer ball, but they only had the adult size ones and we were being cheap. :)
Next we saw our old friends the Nordstroms. Kurt and Steve lived on the same floor in Deseret Towers their freshman year at BYU (which was the Honors floor I might mention...he has some smart friends!). Later after their missions we ended up in the same ward while living in the Tree Streets east of BYU (by the Creamery on Ninth). Steve & Megan had just had their twins as we moved out of the ward...and now they are 6! Since then they've moved to Illinios, Nashville, and now back to Provo. Steve is working as Music Librarian at BYU.
Before meeting up with Kurt's old mission friend we hurried to Lindon so I could stop by the Provo Craft Outlet. I'm sufficiently stocked up with scrapbooking supplies...well at least until Christmas. :)
We then hurried back to Orem to meet up with Travis, his wife Lindsay, and new little one Leoni. Travis and Kurt served in the Japan Nagoya Mission together many moons ago. Travis is finishing up his Master's thesis and then they are off to Qatar for 3 years! Travis is a hilarious guy and kept us laughing the entire time. We all enjoyed our first meal at Five Guys Burger & Fries - it was good, but I'll stick to In&Out.
Lastly, we drove down to Payson to drive through our old neighborhood and visited with our friends (and neighbors) the Jubers...well just Mistie and the kids. While it was good to go back and visit with some good friends, it was kind of a weird feeling heading back to Payson. Both Kurt & I said that it doesn't feel like home anymore. I guess it just confirmed that we made the right decision moving to California three years ago.
