She's ONE!

We started today with a Birthday Breakfast for Kelsie - pancakes, eggs, sausage, and juice. mmm. Kurt works from home on Wednesdays, so it really was a family event. Then I got the kids cleaned up and dressed and then we headed to go see Dr. Crook for Kelsie's one year check-up. Logan was so excited to go see Dr. Crook. He seriously loves that guy.
Well, Kelsie passed her checkup with flying colors, except we'll be meeting with an eye specialist in a few weeks. She still has goopy watery eyes. :( Kurt did too at her age. He even had a surgery scheduled to fix it. But after a blessing and a family fast it miraculously cleared up - true story.

She currently weighs 18 pounds 10 oz. (13th percentile), is 2' 5" tall (about 50th percentile), and her head circumference is about the 50th percentile.

Then we headed to get the dreaded shots. :( Two in each leg...bummer. She cried a little while getting the injections, but has been a champ since then. No fever- No extreme fussiness. Logan was the opposite - didn't mind the shots, but got fevers and felt awful the rest of the day.

Things we don't want to forget about Kelsie at 12 months:

• She walks! She often takes a 3-4 steps, falls over, and then stands back up and tries again.
• She has 4 teeth - but is missing her front 2 teeth. She kind of looks like a hippopotamus.
• Still has goopy eyes (meeting with the specialist at the beginning of December)
• SLEEPS THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!!! Finally! Been waiting a long time for that one!
• Drinks whole milk like a champ. No longer nurses.
• Has a great, I mean HUGE appetite. She eats more than her older brother.
• Very busy/active.
• Happy baby. Smiles at EVERYONE. (Has a way of making everyone feel like they are special.)
• Drinking pretty good from a sippy cup, but still uses a bottle too.
• Loves to play with her big brother.
  
• Favorite toys - mega blocks, toy Grandma & Grandpa got her in September, her new princess car, walker, Little People Farm....whatever her brother is playing with.
• Mostly wearing 12 months clothes (some big 9 months ones are still hanging around).
