Today we decided to pack up the kids and take a little day trip down to Santa Cruz. The weather was beautiful and we wanted to take advantage of it. It was sunny and 60 degrees...in December!
Kids not really cooperating for the picture...but they LOVED seeing all of the boats. Logan really wanted to ride on one, but sadly that didn't happen.
Outside the little restaurant we ate lunch at a huge ukulele band (Sons of Beaches), were assembled playing some Christmas songs.
Once again Logan not cooperating for a photo...but besides the lighthouse in the background, note the shorts and bathing suits behind me! It's freaking DECEMBER!
Afterwards we decided to wander around the little town of Scotts Valley. Its a cute little town (about 11,000 people) in the hills/mountains outside Santa Cruz. It has a lot of the qualities we're looking for - close to the ocean, good weather, within an hour to the airport (San Jose), pine trees, affordable housing (relatively...it is the Bay Area), and close to a major tech hub. While, we're not announcing a move there...we're definitely going to look into it!
