For the month of January we've been talking about different kinds of animals in our little preschool - Farm Animals, Zoo Animals, Bugs & Insects, etc. We decided to take a little field trip to our local Ardenwood Farm - its a huge fully functioning farm in the middle of the Fremont. We had almost 2 weeks straight of rain and so our plans were "weather permitting"...well, the rain broke for a day or 2! It was still foggy and a little muddy, but the kids really needed to get out and do SOMETHING. It was fun, although I was a little disappointed that most of the usual animals weren't out. My guess is that during the storms they moved them into some other barns.
Chickens and peacocks roam throughout the farm, but today we were treated by a peacock who showed off his beautiful feathers. It was pretty neat to see.
