Oahu - Day Three

Today was probably our busiest and one of the most fun days on the island. We started the morning at the Swap Meet and purchased all of our souvenirs for the trip. Pictured above our some nasty plum treats that Kurt bought. He liked them...so I guess that is all that matters. We ate lunch at this amazingly delicious and cheap sushi place - Kuru Kuru Sushi. Kurt was in heaven.
We then headed over to Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona Memorial. It is so sad that so many innocent people had to die there...On the back of each ticket they shared a story of someone who was there that day. A lot of them were just kids!

Afterwards we decided to try to find the hike (again) to Monoa Falls. This time we were successful! Craig & Nancy did the hike on their first time in Hawaii like 15 years ago and hadn't been back since. The hike was beautiful but the falls (or wall) was a little disappointing. Kurt & I have the worst luck with waterfalls! When we went to Maui all of the waterfalls were dry too. Oh well, at least the hike was gorgeous.

Now for the highlight of the hike: Upon returning to our car we saw some big trucks full of lighting equipment, cords, etc. We asked them if they were getting ready to film Lost and indeed they were. We met the "Rip Pigs" (as they called themselves)...some of the behind the scenes crew. They told us that they'd actually be filming there the next day if we wanted to come back.
