Weekly Update

I do have a few pictures to post later, but I thought I'd write a quick post. Last week Logan & I caught a mild stomach bug - nothing HORRIBLE, but bad enough for me to not feel like doing a thing and scared enough for me not want to take Logan anywhere (he threw up about once a day, and I didn't want to get caught anywhere when it decided to come). Luckily starting Thursday night for Logan and Friday afternoon for me, we were back to our normal selves.

Friday Logan got to go to a Lego birthday party for his good friend Ashton. He had a blast! Later that night Kurt & I attended a surprise birthday party for our friend Gigi (pictures to come). I was so happy to be feeling better because the food was delicious!

Saturday it was fun having Kurt home. We ran some "fun" errands that I needed assistance on. First up was Borders - they are having a summer reading program that I believe is happening everywhere (http://media.bordersstores.com/pdf/summerreading.pdf). They "dare" kids up to age 12 to read 10 books. After completing 10 books they give away a free book! All of the books are chapter books, but I still decided to do it. How could I turn away free books? My kids LOVE to read! We picked out Flat Stanley and Johnny Tremain. I thought we could get out spending nothing, but we were talked into by a certain 3 1/2 year old into buying a dinosaur book. But still 3 brand new books for $4, not bad!

After a few other errands and a nap we went to eat at Sweet Tomatoes. Logan was SOOOO excited. Sweet Tomatoes is his absolutely favorite restaurant. We usually go there pretty often, but it has been a few months. I've signed up for their email list so I get coupons every week (totally worth it).

Probably our biggest news of the weekend happened Sunday morning. After 3 1/2 years, Kurt was released as Young Men's President of our ward. He really had some mixed emotions. While he is really looking forward to more free time, etc. he grew to really love the boys and his calling. I'm looking forward to having more help as we prepare for our move (probably next month). I'm sure he won't have that long of a break - I'm sure our new ward will put him to work.

Lastly, regarding the house. We received news last Thursday that the banks have agreed on everything and we should be expecting our "official acceptance letter" this week! Once we receive the letter we'll be closing within 20-30 days. Then the real fun begins. :( New carpet, new paint, new stain, and a whole lot of packing and cleaning.

Just wanted to add my 2 cents about what a great job you did as YM president. You put in years of service and I can't remember a single time I heard you complain about it. I'm sure you have made a big difference in a lot of those boys lives because you truly cared about them. Job well done, now enjoy a little break.
