The warmth and joy of Christmas, brings us closer to each other.
Emily Matthews
We hope this letter finds your family well and in good health. This year has been a year of big changes for our family. After months of looking at dozens of houses we found the perfect one
for us. In September we purchased a home in Boulder Creek, California, nestled in the redwoods of the Santa Cruz mountains near Big Basin State Park. We love it so far and are adjusting to “mountain” life.
Kurt is still working at VMware and loving it. We are very blessed that they are still doing well in the current economy. We took a trip to Oahu in February with his parents – he got a bonus week of vacation when his appendix burst and he had to have emergency surgery. Since moving, he has become a handyman, lumberjack, and windy road commuter.
Rachel is slowly adjusting to life without her beloved Target. Most of everyday shopping trips are 20-45 minutes away. She was also recently called as the 2nd Counselor in the Relief Society. Since moving to the redwoods, she has caught the crafting bug and has been busy scrap booking, quilting, and doing crafts with the kids.
Logan is now a dinosaur loving four year old. This fall he started at Kreative Kids Preschool and is loving it because they have inside AND outside dinosaur toys. He took swim lessons over the summer and is slowly becoming used to being in the water because of our new “hot pool”.
Kelsie has hit her terrible twos, but is still adorable as ever. Last Spring she had surgery to open up her clogged tear ducts. The surgery was very successful and her goopy eyes are hopefully gone forever. She is a total girl – loving her kitchen, babies, princesses, pretty dresses, etc. She also sings and talks a lot.
We hope to keep in touch with all of our friends and family
Our home is always open for visitors!
Love,
Kurt, Rachel, Logan & Kelsie

I think Kelsie should be a baby model. She has the cutest mischievous smile.
Merry Christmas to you too! I'm so happy that you found a house you love and that your family is doing so well.
