Exploring Tokyo

Our original Saturday plans were cancelled due to a rainy Saturday forecast.  Logan was so sad.  We were planning to go to "Goose Boat Lake" otherwise known as Senzokuike Pond.  We pass it every Sunday on our way to church.  We'll have to try it again on another day.

Since those plans were cancelled, we met up with some friends for lunch and a little sightseeing.  The Wightmans have 3 kids, ages 2 (almost), 4 and 6.  So we wandered around with a 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 year old.  Always makes for a fun adventure.:)

We went to lunch at an Italian buffet in Roppongi, played at the new Lego Store (which Logan of course loved), and then went to the Tokyo Tower for ice cream and a little bounce house fun.  Instead of taking the trains everywhere we piled into the Wightmans SUV.  When parking at Roppongi they have an awesome parking garage.  You pull into a spot and then they slide the car onto a conveyor belt in a garage which has hundreds are cars stacked on top of each other.  Each slot is assigned a number and they print out a card with your info on it.  When you return you give them your card and they dial in your car.  The kids loved watching the car move.

Kurt and I didn't realize that Tokyo Tower was more than a tower.  We've seen it from afar several times, but had never actually been there.  I also didn't realize that it is the world's tallest self-supporting steel tower...even taller than the Eiffel Tower in Paris!  We didn't make to the top of the tower this time, but it was fun to see what was there.  We'll definitely be back.  The 4th floor had a kid zone.  The kids had fun playing around in the bounce house.  We then topped it off with Baskin Robbins, which has been a staple for us lately. :)
