Saturday afternoon I received a Freecycle email of someone offering a pink girls bike. I got super excited and called Kurt right away. He contacted the owner and they needed it gone by 5pm that day. So, Kurt (being the awesome dad he is) jumped on the train for Kawasaki to pick up the bike. Unfortunately bikes aren't allowed on trains in Japan unless they are in a special bike bag..and we don't have a car...BUT he was able to fit in the trunk of a taxi. The taxi ride cost 3200 yen, however we still got a great deal! The bike is only 3 months old and a new bike would have cost about 200,000 yen.
