Since a lot of people have been asking if we are moving or not, I thought I'd give an update. In April we put an offer in on a short sale. The owners accepted our offer right away and sent our offer onto the bank. They were only a few days/weeks away from their house being sent to auction. The owners have submitted all of their paperwork to the bank and now we are waiting for a negotiator to be assigned to the case. We're continuing to look at houses, but we have not felt good about any other houses like we have this one.
I thought I'd share a few more pictures of our "hopeful" future home. Few stats - 2300 sq. feet, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 1.03 acre lot, built in 1994, located on a non-busy mountain highway in Boulder Creek. Only 10 minutes from decent shopping and 15-20 minutes from the beach (Santa Cruz). Kurt's commute will be a little longer than it currently is mileage wise, but only about 10-15 minutes longer. He's also planning to request an additional work from home day.
Note: current owners aren't the cleanest people in the world. The whole house needs a good scrub down and landscaping.

Master suite is upstairs (pantry underneath stairs).
Whole house will be getting new carpet among other things. :)

Man, isn't waiting the WORST? The house is really beautiful though and I can definitely see the potential, even with the carpet. :) Hope you get it!
Wow that sounds like a wonderful location and it looks like a great house! We had a similar situation with our new house. we put our offer on the short sale in the last week of January and finally closed in May. Fingers crossed!
that house looks awesome!! you can barely tell that the previous tenants aren't clean people ;) You guys are great, and I can't wait to see your new home!!!
