The Newest Mr. & Mrs. Keyser

The kids and I had a whirlwind couple of weeks.  Nick called us about 2 weeks ago and told us that he and Brandie were going to be getting married in the next week!!!  They originally had planned to get married this fall, but Nick's work plans were put on hold for now, so they decided why wait?!?  He obviously understood that we might not be able to make it, but I was determined to go.  Sadly, Kurt couldn't take work off to attend with us, but the kids and I were able to make it.  A girl (or woman?, she's 23) from church was able to drive out with us, which was a HUGE help to me.

Anyways, we said good bye to Kurt and my family who had been camping out at our house the whole weekend and headed out for the long drive on Monday.  We made it to my sister-in-law Rachelle's house late Monday night.

The wedding was at 5pm at Brandie's home in American Fork.  We (Nancy, Rachelle, Jeanette, and I) were asked to make centerpieces and dessert, so Rachelle and I finished putting the centerpieces together first thing in the morning.

For a wedding put together in about a week and a half...it was amazing!  Brandie looked beautiful and you can tell that they are so in love. Still kind of crazy that little Nick is married now...but we're so happy for them.  They had the actual ceremony in the backyard of Brandie's neighbor.  The backdrop was this cute little building - not sure if it was a shed or guest house...but either way it was perfect.

Brandie has four children (can you believe it!  she looks amazing!)- Mackenzie (16), Maddison (14), Dayton (8), and Delaney (6).  Laney was so excited to be the flower girl!  She went up to Ryan's girlfriend Genna and asked if she was the flower girl at her mom's wedding!  lol  She was just so excited. :)  Dayton walked his mom down the aisle in his handsome suit.

The wedding was a family affair.  They decided to only invite immediate family members for now and then have a big reception at a later date - maybe when they are sealed in the temple.

The kids had a blast.  I think Uncle Nick and Aunt Brandie's house is going to be one of their favorites!

Brandie's family put together a yummy pasta dinner.  Like I said earlier, we were asked to help out with the dessert.  My awesome sister-in-law Jeanette baked Nick and Brandie a gluten-free wedding cake.  (Brandie can't have gluten)  Brandie was so excited when I told her because she NEVER gets to have cake.  Craig and Nancy brought a yummy cake from Costco for the rest of us and some spumoni ice cream from The Old Spaghetti Factory (where Nick works).

Since Kurt wasn't there, I had to make sure Nick's car was decorated.  It's a Keyser tradition.  I texted Jason and Jeanette earlier in the day and they brought some supplies.  I suggested our sweet sister-in-law Jeanette ask to borrow Nick's keys to put a present for them in their car.  Ryan, Genna, Jason, Jeanette, Maddi, and her friend finished the rest of the job. :)  It was nowhere near as bad as our car (Thanks Ryan and Chad!)...but I'm glad they were able to do it.
We're so excited for Nick and Brandie.  You can tell they are truly in love.  We can't wait to attend their sealing next year!
