Beach Blanket Babylon Review

Kurt and I thoroughly enjoyed our night out last Thursday! Kurt took off from work a little early so we'd have time to pick up the babysitter, get to BART, and be back in the City in time for dinner and the show. We missed the first bus we were supposed to catch, so our dinner time was cut a little shorter than we hoped. We found a table in one of the closest restaurants to our bus stop and hoped for the best! Luckily, we chose right! We stumbled upon Caffe Delucchi. We'd highly recommend this restaurant. If we would have had more time I would have liked to try a dessert...I saw one at a table next to us, but we were out of time. We split a caesar salad and each ordered our own pizzas (which we could have easily shared one). I had a traditional pepperoni and sausage while Kurt had a pizza topped with smoked salmon, asparagus, and capers. Looked a little gross to me but he LOVED it.
Our only complaint was that Kurt's pizza "broke" in the oven, so they had to cook a 2nd one. Oh well, things happen.

After paying our bill we were off to Club Fugazi for the show. Overall, we REALLY enjoyed the show. We weren't able to take pictures inside the club but if you look at our previous post regarding Beach Blanket Babylon we saw all of those characters minus Barry Bonds. The band and music were great. The play is about Snow White trying to find her Prince Charming. She travels all over the world and meets all sorts of people along the way including Tina Turner, Hillary & Bill Clinton, Barrack Obama, Britney & Jamie Lynn Spears, Oprah, Whoopi, Justin Timberlake, Janet Jackson, and The Governator, just to name a few. It really was like a 90-minute Saturday Night Live spoof. It was a little over the top, but I think its definitely worth seeing. Our only real complaint was the seating. We were squished shoulder to shoulder in hard wooden chairs. I'd expect more for what we paid for tickets...
