In&Out (Union City), Chabot Space & Science Center, Oakland Temple
We started our Saturday morning by catching up on some much needed sleep after having 2 fun, action-packed days. Everyone voted that we definitely needed to stop at In&Out for lunch. We're lucking enough to have one in Union City, just a couple miles from our house.
After finishing up we headed to Oakland to visit the Chabot Space & Science Center. It was pretty cool and had lots of hands on activities that even Logan enjoyed. Probably my favorite part was the Planetarium Show. We watched "Dawn of the Space Age". It felt like you were watching a 3-D movie, but without the goofy glasses. We also found out that they have FREE telescope viewings on Friday and Saturday nights. You don't have to pay the general admission to go. Kurt really wants to take the scouts up there and we'd like to go back sometime too.
The Oakland Temple is just down the hill a little bit from the Space Center. We walked up to the top of the temple gardens to enjoy the beautiful views of the City. The temple is currently closed for cleaning, so we pretty much had the temple to ourselves. We also got to see a really cool exhibit in the Visitor's Center. If you live in the area I recommend going to see it while its still in Oakland. I forgot the sculptors name, but she created 13 beautiful sculptures depicting different events in the saviors life.
Ryan & Shelley left us Saturday night, but we were glad they were able to make it out. We had a lot of fun!
Saturday night, we relaxed with dinner at home and an evening of games.
