Family Outing...just the 3 of us

As we were making plans for this afternoon, I realized that it was going to be one of our last family outings with just the 3 of us! I was having some pretty intense pressure accompanied with a few contractions Thursday night/Friday morning and considered going into Labor & Delivery to get checked out...but decided unless it got worse to wait until my scheduled appointment on Monday morning. Lucky for me I have felt pretty good today, so we continued on with our afternoon of fun!

Normally a long line of bumper to bumper traffic would be a bad way to start off a fun afternoon, but as long as we reminded Logan that there would be pumpkins and trains we were good to go! We didn't realize that it was the annual "Pumpkin & Arts Festival" in Half Moon Bay until we were in the middle of all the traffic. Although, I'm not sure it really would have stopped us from going, because I think we are busy every weekend until Thanksgiving! (I'm not presently agreeing to any plans between Thanksgiving and Christmas).

After what felt like forever we finally arrived at our first destinations--Pastorino & Lemos Farms! First off Logan LOVED petting the goats. He also saw some chickens and ponies and was equally excited (although he didn't get to pet them).
Next, we stopped for a snack and I had some DELICIOUS homemade pumpkin pie. I think pumpkin pie is one of my favorite things about the fall...sure you could eat it just about anytime...but it just seems right in the fall. After wandering around for a little bit we bought tickets for Kurt & Logan to ride the train. Kurt said Logan loved it! He actually is going to be a little train conductor for Halloween.
Then it was PUMPKIN time. I'm not sure why my son has become obsessed with pumpkins, but he is. He points them out at the grocery store, on signs, people's houses, etc. A few weeks ago I let him get a small one a Trader Joes to bring home and he has been in love ever since. btw Dismiss how HUGE a look in the below picture...but I guess I am allowed at almost 35 weeks right?
A trip to Half Moon Bay would not be a real trip if you didn't at least stop by the beach. Kurt really wanted to check out the tide pools at the Fitzgerald Marine Life Preserve. Usually when we come we've been a little disappointed because we aren't there during low-tide...but this time it was great! (Note to Keyser Family: Kurt & Logan are standing at the very edge of the beach...everything behind them was uncovered!) Kurt & Logan found several starfish, crabs, sea anenome, mussles, snails, hermit crabs, seals, seagulls, and little fish.
After the sun went down we headed back into town to eat at one of our favorite restaurants in Half Moon Bay--Princeton Seafood Company. Now we sufficiently stuffed and ready for bed! Goodnight!

You guys are a great little (and growing) family! It's neat to follow along with you through life. It's getting cold up here in Utah - it snowed 2.5 inches here in Orem last Sunday! but this past week was in the 70s. Soon, It'll be winter, and I'll be on the slopes again! We miss you guys, and hope all is well.
