So Rachel and I aren't exactly the "fitness freak" types (although our physiques probably say otherwise, right? :) ). So the fact that we "started" (I say started because everyone starts a fitness program at one time or another. Hopefully we'll graduate from this one) P90X may surprise some of our readers. It should. It's intense. We just wrapped up day 3 of the program and it completely kicks our butts every day. Seriously, it doesn't matter how fit you are, the program can push you to new levels. For us, that's from level 0 to level 1, but hey, it's something.
We got interested after hearing what it did for my sister and brother-in-law. Both had awesome results in 90 days and swear by it. It's actually a TON of fun and you really feel it the next day in all the right ways. We're not doing the diet or supplement portion as of now, so we don't expect ASTOUNDING results, but we wanted an excercise program that mixed it up every day and was entertaining. This definitely fit the bill.
The program is TONS of fun! It's like reliving the best gym classes from school in a fat-burning workout. It has weight training, pull-up training, all kinds of ab ripping killers, yoga, plyometrics, kenpo, and on and on. Each workout is about 60 mins, but we're just starting to make it all the way through some because they're so intense (plyometrics is like a full day of snowboarding and then going to football practice!).
Each DVD starts with some really fun warm-ups/stretch and ends with a cool-down/stretch. Every other day there's an ab-ripper x portion after the normal workout that lasts 15 mins and every other week is a recovery week to let your muscles repair and build for the next week. So far, it's been great. I've been sore the next day in all kinds of strange and unusual places, but it's starting to get better. Rachel is figuring out what works for her and has had to buy a boob strap to keep the girls in line.
All in all, it's a great program. Highly recommend it for anyone wanting to get into something new or back into something old.

OK, crack me up with the boob strap comment! I'll have to try the dvd's they sound great:)
I wanted to try that. Maybe I will now!
Boob Strap? Nice, Kurt! Sounds fun...how much do those cost. I'm looking for something to do now so I have something in mind for after the next baby.
...just to clear things up...I had to buy a sports bra the other night. Nursing bras aren't the best to work out in.
P90X is amazing! Every day I did it, I was sore. IMy body never got used to it! One intense workout after another! I want to do it again! So, so fun! Good luck!
