Today we checked out of our hotel in Morro Bay and headed North. Along the way we stopped to walk around the shops in Cayucos, wandered around Harmony (Population 18 - where Kurt took some more awesome pics), and checked into our hotel in Cambria. We stayed at the Cambria Pines Lodge. They let us check in a little early so we got settled before heading up to
Hearst Castle.
We took Tour One (the Experience Tour) which included
Esplanade and Gardens, Casa del Sol (18 room guest house), Neptune & Roman pools, and Casa Grande (the main house). Mr. Hearst collected CEILINGS. Who in the world collects ceilings? Well, I guess Mr. Hearst. A couple of them were from the 1500 & 1600s and were shipped over from Europe. CRAZY!
It was also Christmas on "the Ranch", so every room was decorated with trees, lights, and garland. It was so pretty!
