Central Coast Vacation - Day 2

This morning we decided to drive down the coast South of Morro Bay. We drove through a couple state parks and then got out at Avila Beach. The sand was beautiful and it had a charming little pier where we sat and relaxed for a little bit.

Our next stop was Pismo Beach. We ate at Splash Cafe after it was recommended by Kim. The line was out the door, so it did really look to be a local favorite. We enjoyed our chowder bread bowl and were on our way.

We took a brief break from the ocean air and headed back to our hotel. I have been getting over an annoying cold and was in need of a nap. While I was sleeping Kurt sneaked out and took a few pictures of Morro Bay. Once he edits them they'll be up on his photo blog. We then drove North up to Cayucos for dinner. While we were waiting for our dinner reservation we walked over to the pier to shoot a couple pictures. Kurt took the BEST PICTURE EVER, so definitely check out his photo blog in coming days. I took the picture below while I was waiting for him.

Next, we had the best meal we have eaten in our entire lives. HOPPE'S GARDEN BISTRO.
If you are ever in the area (without kids) EAT HERE. I order the Angus Flat Iron Steak with Crispy Onions and Shaved Parmesan. And it was the. best. ever.!!!!! We shared Kurt's salad and dessert (Chocolate Oblivion Torte with Praline Ice Cream)...which was also the.best.ever. We should have taken pictures. They were SOOOO good.
