Christmas Eve - Arrival to Utah

Christmas Eve we boarded our Delta flight to Salt Lake City. First of all, I HIGHLY recommend flying on Christmas Eve! Our friend Daryl gave us a ride to the airport and was able to drop us off at the sidewalk without waiting for anyone to move and the freeway was empty! Our flight was pretty uneventful. I was bummed that they changed out flight and switched us to a smaller plane that didn't have a movie showing. Our original flight was supposed to be showing Four Christmases and I wanted to watch it. Oh well, hopefully we'll have better luck on our way home! Kurt's parents greeted us at the airport and after grabbing some lunch we headed for a visit to Grandma & Grandpa Keyser's house.

Clint, Rachelle, & Dane met us there. We haven't seen Clint since Dane's baby blessing (November 2007), so it was a lot of fun catching up with him. (Kelsie meeting Uncle Clint pictured above) Clint just took a job working for the LDS Church in Salt Lake on Temple Square as a boiler room operator, which manages the heating and cooling of everything on Temple Square. He, Rachelle, & Dane are settled in South Jordan for now and we are excited to have them closer! They were in Maryland and Iceland previously, so even though we're in CA, they are A LOT closer.
Kurt's Uncle Kent, Aunt Judi, and cousins Blake & Jordan were there too, so it was fun seeing them as well. :) Grandma & Grandpa opened their presents from us that were there for the afternoon. Logan & Kelsie had fun helping. We typically stay for the big Keyser Family Christmas Eve party in Salt Lake, but this year Kurt's parents wanted to have a quieter event with just our little family. We read the nativity, sang some songs, and listened to a neat story that Craig shared with us. Logan & Kelsie had fun with Grandma & Grandpa's tree and Santa Claus decorations.
Nancy bought the kids Christmas jammies, so we dressed them up to get ready for Santa's visit.

Before bed, Logan bundled up to feed the reindeer. They get hungry to you know! Kurt & Ryan took Logan out. Apparently he opened the bag of "magic oats" and dumped them in one big pile.
