Doctor Visit (Kelsie Update)

This morning I took the kids to see Dr. Crook (our wonderful pediatrician). Kelsie had to receive clearance before tomorrow's surgery. Logan turned into "Dr. Logan" and brought his doctor kit along. He made sure the check up was going well and tested out all of his "tools" as Dr. Crook was checking Kelsie.

Kelsie checked out perfectly. I mentioned to the nurse that I would be back in a couple weeks for Kelsie's 18 month well check and decided to check with the doctor to see if we could combine the visits. THANK YOU! The nurse saved me an additional trip to the doctor and a $10 co-pay.

So, here are Kelsie's 18 month stats (a few weeks early):

Weight - 21 lb (9th percentile)

Height - 2' 7.75" (59th percentile)

Head Size - 46.4 cm (49th percentile)

Tomorrow morning we'll be heading the Kaiser in Fremont for Kelsie's surgery. We are supposed to arrive by 7:30am and should be able to leave around 10:30am, assuming there aren't any complications. Her left eye has cleared up on its own, but we might have them go through and complete the procedure on both eyes. We'd hate for her to have to go through everything again if her eye starts to goop up again.

For those are wonder exactly what they are doing...Dr. Amato will be inserting a needle/probe type things up through her nose to open up the clogged tear ducts. Kelsie will be knocked out during the surgery which is the hardest part according to Dr. Crook. The procedure itself is pretty simple. If all goes well as planned within a week she should be back to her old self with NO GOOP! There is a chance the probing won't do the job. In that case, she'd have to have another surgery to insert a permanent stent. So, we're REALLY hoping that doesn't happen.
