Still LOST (but That's OK)

LOST ended Sunday. There were a TON of plot holes left open, but I've come to grips with the thought that it may have been intentional. Why else would you string along the characters as well as the viewers for so long with so many seemingly nonsensical events?

I kind of like the idea of everyone involved in the show being LOST as to the full storyline. Sort of an almost-resolvable set of events that seem like they should fit together, but never quite do. It creates empathy for the characters who wish more than anything that they could climb out of the pit of insanity, but no one can ever quite escape the wrath of the half-mad writers. Not even the viewers.

In the end, the main themes prevailed but the details of the plot were completely ignored. There was final resolution for (most of) the main characters. Some where mysteriously absent, but hey, they've been gone a long time, so who cares. Right? It's been a great ride. We loved every minute of the show. I guess the only frustration I have is that they were doing such a great job of wrapping up all the big questions that I had hoped they would tie up the last few loose strings before closing it out. Didn't happen. Oh well, I still liked the closing and would recommend it to friends.
