Yesterday our good friends organized a kind of pre-farewell party for us. :) A couple of the families are going to be on vacation most of August and they didn't want to miss us. We're still waiting for our "official" letter so who knows when we'll actually be moving. Anyways, Kurt took the afternoon off from work so we could start in a little early on the fun. On the way to Santa Cruz we stopped off at KMart in Scotts Valley and bought these cute little "life-jackets" for the kids. Since Kelsie is our wild child hers was strapped on the entire afternoon. :)
I did a horrible job of taking pictures of everyone - but about 10 families from our ward showed up! We had a blast! The kids played in the water and sand for several hours and then we "cleaned" up and got ready for the bonfire.
Sandy hotdogs, salad, fruit, cookies, etc. all around. :) Our friends the Lincavages moved to Utah last summer - however, we scheduled the bonfire while there were in town visiting! It was good to see them. As the sun went down we geared up for smores and other yummy treats. We all stayed until about 10pm. The kids were out within minutes of getting into the car. While we're excited to be moving to a great area and into a great home we are going to miss our friends in Union City. This is the longest we have ever lived in one place our entire marriage (4+ years). I was 6 1/2 months pregnant with Logan when we moved in - so this is the only home our kids have lived in. Luckily, we're only moving an hour away, so getting together isn't impossible...it just won't be as frequent. Although, we're determined to find our friend Noa a firefighting job by us and Gigi wants to move by us once her son returns from his mission. :) So maybe we'll just have to recruit the rest of our ward to the San Lorenzo Valley!
