Once my mom told me they were having an awesome dinosaur exhibit at the California State Fair I decided we HAD to go. Logan is obsessed with dinosaurs right now and I knew he would love it. The kids and I drove to Cameron Park Monday morning and came home Wednesday afternoon, so it was a pretty quick trip. Monday afternoon I decided to stop off at the dollar store just to see what they had - lo and behold I found these awesome dinosaur hats! I bought a couple and Logan was in love! Several people at the fair asked where the booth was to buy them. :)
Tuesday morning we packed lunches and picked up my niece Kylee and nephew Preston to come along with us. We decided to head to the dinosaur exhibit first because we expected lines would be long. While we were standing outside the building we heard LOUD roars. Logan looked at me and asked if he could just look inside the window and not go in. :) He was a little scared, but once inside he LOVED it like I expected. The dinosaurs were robotic and life size. Kelsie kept growling at them. :)
After looking at the dinosaurs, they had a dig site where the kids looked for dinosaur bones.
Next we wandered around the rest of the fair (at least the parts we were interested in). We checked out a jungle exhibit, insect exhibit, baby animal exhibit (super cute baby pigs were only a couple days old), and an awesome fish/aquatic exhibit. The kids (and grandma) got to put their hands in the water and touch the fish, turtles, etc. They thought it was pretty cool.
