We spent the night as a family for the first time at our new house Friday night - It felt more like camping since we were sleeping in sleeping bags and didn't have heat or a refrigerator, but we still were in OUR HOUSE! We learned/noticed some awesome things while hanging out at the house.
- If you off all of the lights, lay on the floor in the middle of the house you can see STARS! You can seriously go star gazing inside the house.
- ALL of the kitchen cupboards have those cool shelves that pull out for your convenience.
- The previous owners left all of their patio furniture (2 glass tops tables, 8 chairs, 2 lounge chairs, redwood benches and table), charcoal bbq, and hammock. Instead of watching tv during lunch, we ate on the deck listening to the quiet, and the birds chirping, and watched the squirrels play in the 100 foot tall redwood trees.
4. One of the previous owners set up a pumping system to get the water in the creek up to the garden for irrigation.
5. A switch in the master bedroom turns on a security type system of flood lamps all over the property.
6. The house must have amazing installation because when I walked into the house it was 85 degrees outside and 63 degrees inside! (and the A/C wasn't on at all)
I'm sure the list will grow. But after one night this is what we discovered. I unpacked several boxes this weekend, but the "big" move will be this coming Saturday.

Oh man, I love good surprises about new houses. So much better than bad ones (as in I would kill to have that amazing insulation in my house, wow!) Your house looks like some sort of relaxing retreat. So awesome.
I am so happy for you! After much headache with looking for a house, it seems that you found the perfect one! It's awesome! And what a great area! I would LOVE those surroundings! Congrats!
Sounds amazing!
