Chocolate Never Faileth

This week was my first official activity I was in charge of since being called as 2nd Counselor in Relief Society at church.  We had an AMAZING turnout for the activity.  Over 50 sisters/visitors attended, and probably only 35 come on a normal Sunday.  I can't take credit for most of it because Sherry, the Enrichment Leader, is awesome...and the whole idea was her idea.
We started with a dinner, which was good until we ran out of food due to the high number of sisters.  Afterwards Sherry and I taught a chocolate class.  We melted chocolate and made candy with molds (temples, hearts, suckers etc).  Next we dipped  marshmallows in chocolate and decorated with M&Ms, sprinkles, etc.  These were by far my favorite!  They would be great for a baby shower or birthday party.  I found the above heart picks at Dollar Tree and used them as valentines skewers.  They turned out cute!  Online we also found an idea to use kids crazy straws as a skewer.   Lastly, Sherry taught our to make chocolate turtles.  Yummy!
Next we had a guest speaker speak about "Be Sweet to Yourself in 2011".  She is a licensed therapist and talked about positive affirmations and being good to yourself.

It was a great night!  Hopefully we haven't set our expectations too high for next month!
