Mormon Tabernacle Christmas Concert

Kurt & I were lucky enough to score tickets to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas concert.  The tickets are free, but it's a huge lottery process to get tickets.  Kurt's parents watched the kids for us, so we could have a date night out!  We were able to finish up a little Christmas shopping and have dinner before the concert (We ate at Brio Tuscan Grille - soooo yummy!).

For those who have never been inside the Conference Center it is HUGE!  Deborah Voigt even commented on the size.  She said she is used to singing in large auditoriums with elaborate sets, but nothing has compared to the conference center.  Deborah Voigt is a very talented operatic soprano, but opera isn't really our cup of tea.  Our favorite part was organ soloist Richard Elliot -- he was amazing!!!  We also enjoyed John Rhys-Davies Dicken's Christmas and reading of Luke 2.  (If you don't know who he is...he played Sallah in the Indiana Jones movies and Gimli in the Lord of the Rings.)

After the concert we wandered around for a little bit to see all of the beautiful Christmas lights on Temple Square.  It was a really fun night!
