General Conference Saturday

I love General Conference weekends. Up until I was 13 my dad was inactive in the LDS Church. Conference weekends generally meant camping trips, fishing, going to the lake, or something similar. In Cameron Park, they showed conference on TV, so at least the Sunday sessions were always on. It wasn't until I was at BYU, that I watched all 4 sessions of Conference and LOVED it.

Watching Conference now is a little different. We watch it on the computer (BYUtv), and now have to wrestle with a three year old and an almost one year old. (Today Logan told us to turn it off so he could watch HIS show!) I've come to realize that I will just have to reread them when I get the November Ensign.

However, I did want to record a couple things I liked.

He had some great quotes I need to reread for my upcoming Stake Primary Training Meeting. I will be training all of the Primary teachers in the Stake...so I need all the help I can get! Also my former Bishop's wife was in one of the videos he showed during his talk (I blanked on their last name-but it was from ROGERS HALL...remember how the Bishop's wife worked for LDS Films? It was totally her.)

• Elder Bednar's talk about BEING CONSISTENT. His kids won't remember every act of service, every FHE lesson, etc., but they will remember that they were consistent. President Brown (also talked about this at our last Stake Conference). He had his kids share what they liked, didn't like, and remembered about FHE. They remembered the fights, someone being sent to their room, etc. but most importantly they ALWAYS had Family Home Evening.

Saturday night while Kurt attended the Priesthood session, the kids and I were invited to my friend Cherisse's house to play and eat crepes. The food was delicious and the kids were having crazy amounts of fun. There was a total of 13 kids and 2 babies! The guys went out to dinner and met up with us after wards.
